True Meaning of the Daily

There are many interpretation of meaning of the daily. Some of which are honest misunderstanding and a fare share of them is otherwise. Which ever the case, a right understanding of the 'daily' will give us a clear understanding of one of the most important prophecies of the bible in context to our time. It is verily impossible to see or understand how the prophecies of our day have been fulfilled, and to know how close we are to the close of probation. The would be truth seeker and child of God would wake up, if he had a tangible knowledge of the nearness of Christ soon appearing. This is very well the reason why the enemy of souls (satan) works untirely to confuse the issue and cause the sleeping to not be distrubed. With the help of the holy spirit, you will understand that the daily is an important key to unoock the messages of prophecy that have been closed prior to this generation - specifically, the last 6 verses of Daniel 11 and entire chapter of Daniel 12.

Go with me to Daniel 8:11-14.

11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
12 And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practiced, and prospered.
13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days °; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

Note a Few Facts:
  • Verse 11, 12, 13 in the King James Bible that the word 'sacrifice' exist and is italized - meaning it was added by the translators. (we will come back to this fact later).
  • Verse 12 is a continuation from verses 11. We know this because the two phrases are linked by the conjunction "And".
  • Verse 13 is a distinctive pharse or seperate idea from verse 12.
  • The "Daily" in verses 11 and 12 is in the context of the word "sanctuary" there. And in verse 13 it is tied to the meaning of the word "sanctuary" here. Note the meaning of the Hebrew word used for sanctaury in each case.
    • [Verse 11] Sanctuary - miqdash [mik-dawsh']
      a consecrated thing or place,
especially, a palace, sanctuary (whether of Jehovah or of idols) or asylum
    • [Verse 13] Sanctuary - qodesh [ko'-desh]
a sacred place or thing; rarely abstract,
sanctity:--consecrated (thing), dedicated (thing), hallowed (thing), holiness, (X most) holy (X day, portion, thing), saint, sanctuary.

In verse 11 the Hebrew word for sanctuary could refer to a sanctuary for Jehovah or for Idols. In contrast, the same word in vers 13 can only refer to God's sanctuary.

If the word Daily was to be represented as the true earthly or heavenly sanctuary as shown to Moses by God, wouldn't Daniel use the same word for sanctuary in verse 11 that he used in verse 13? The honest rational mind must contend that he would.

Retain these facts, as we explore these verses.

In a quote from Early Writings(1882) we read [emphasis supplied], ‘Then I saw in relation to the "daily" (Dan. 8:12) that the word "sacrifice" was supplied by man's wisdom, and does not belong to the text, and that the Lord gave the correct view of it to those who gave the judgment hour cry. When union existed, before 1844, nearly all were united on the correct view of the "daily"; but in the confusion since 1844, other views have been embraced, and darkness and confusion have followed. Time has not been a test since 1844, and it will never again be a test. {EW 74.2}’
